Rooted in Heaven is an intimate and inspiring feature docudrama that explores the extraordinary resilience of the human spirit. Over the course of eight years, artist, filmmaker, and mother Monica Fish faces a cascade of life-altering challenges, including domestic violence, homelessness, financial devastation, family separation, and repeated personal loss. Yet through every setback, she remains anchored by her faith and sustained by her creativity.
As Monica rebuilds her life from the ground up, art becomes both sanctuary and salvation. Through painting, sculpture, and the creation of delicate porcelain angels, she transforms trauma into testimony and despair into hope. Interweaving personal archives, interviews, artwork, and reflections on faith, Rooted in Heaven reveals how the deepest wounds can become the foundation for healing and purpose.
